Water & Waste-water treatment plant

Water & Waste-water treatment plant

Rapid industrialization has hiked up the number of pollutants in our surroundings. Wastewater is one of them. Also, with increasing water demand due to continuous development and increase in industrial production at various sectors, every field faces water scarcity due to limited natural resources available.

If the wastewater which comes out of from these industries is discharged without treating, the contamination further spreads. Wastewater also seeps into the ground, contaminating underground water sources. There are other irreversible rather fatal environmental impacts which arise due to this.

To refine the situation and minimizing the adverse environmental impacts, Government of different countries, including environmental related NGOs across the globe are engaged in designing the environmentally stringent parameters of effluent discharge. This effluent can be one of the resources of water if treated properly. Considering all above factors, designing optimum effluent treatment scheme is a crucial step.

Ascent Water provides tailor made solution for effluent treatment, recycling, up to zero liquid discharge. Understanding the  exact requirements of client and provide cost effective optimized wastewater management solutions, with minimal footprint, smooth operation with minimal operational cost is our core strength.

Explanation

Water and Wastewater treatment plant consists of various unit operations and processes.

Preliminary treatment:

The combined effluent is collected at one point of industrial area, it is transferred by gravity to screen chamber followed by oil & grease trap and then is collected in Equalization tank where pH correction, cooling treatment, mixing of various effluents is done.

Primary treatment:

Effluent from equalization tank is pumped to downstream process for primary treatment. Primary Treatment is physico-chemical in nature, specifically to remove suspended matter, floating & emulsified oil, heavy metals, etc.

Secondary treatment:

After primary treatment, the dissolved organic substances including BOD/COD shall be reduced by bacteriological activity. This biological activity can be either aerobic or anaerobic i.e. can be carried out in presence or absence of oxygen.

Tertiary treatment:

After secondary treatment, the remaining suspended solids and dissolved solids shall be removed in tertiary treatment. Tertiary treatment includes Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, Reverse Osmosis, etc.

Disinfection:

Effluent can carry pathogenic microorganisms, which may be harmful, if left untreated. Hence, disinfection systems such as hypochlorite dosing, chlorine dioxide, ozonation, UV disinfection can be used.

Specialized applications:

We also provide various specialized equipment such as Membrane bio-reactors, Dissolved air flotation, packaged type ETP/STP, Recycling and ZLD plant with UF and RO systems followed by evaporation.

Recycling & zero liquid discharge:

Considering the cost involved in Zero Liquid Discharge system, maximum recovery of waste water is planned in Reverse Osmosis Unit with necessary Ultrafiltration as pretreatment unit to Reverse Osmosis. Permeate recovery shall be 92-95% which can be used in production process. Minimum quantity & concentrated RO reject shall be sent for evaporation/ZLD.

Sludge/ solid Disposal:

Sludge from various stages of ETP/STP shall be collected & dewatered in the suitable dewatering equipment.
